Move with Strength

Restore Balance

Resolve Pain

About

I specialize in movement diagnostics and corrective Pilates, helping my clients resolve chronic pain, restore muscular balance, and build sustainable strength. My approach blends progressive and classical Pilates with Physical Therapy, NeuroKinetic Therapy and weight training.

My background in movement began with 12 years of ballet training, where I was first introduced to Mat Pilates as part of my conditioning. I later went on to coach gymnastics during college where I developed a love of teaching and a greater understanding of body mechanics, strength, and movement patterns.

I completed my professional Pilates training at the internationally renowned Pilates Sports Center in 2010, where I became a Master Trainer, mentoring and educating other instructors. During the COVID pandemic, I opened my own private home studio in Encino, where I continue to work with clients in a highly individualized setting.

The result of all of my experience is a thoughtful, investigative approach to movement that helps clients rebuild strength, regain confidence in their bodies, and move with greater ease in everyday life.

Your Questions, Answered

  • Pilates is a system of exercise developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates who originally called his method Contrology. His work focused on strengthening the body, improving mobility, and developing greater control and awareness of movement.

While Pilates is about core strength and flexibility, where Pilates really shines is in developing balanced, efficient movement patterns.

Using Pilates as the foundation we will work together to identify where your body is overworking, where it is under-supported, and how those imbalances can contribute to pain or dysfunction. By strengthening the right muscles and improving coordination between muscle groups, we can restore balance to the body and help you move with greater ease, stability, and confidence.

  • The LaMons Method IS Pilates—a blend of classical and progressive approaches, informed by the knowledge I’ve gained from Physical Therapy principles, NeuroKinetic Therapy, traditional strength training, and my own experience navigating injuries and imbalances. It also reflects what I’ve learned from working with clients and my ongoing curiosity about the physics of movement and how to unlock chronic pain and injury.

The goal is not just exercise, but helping you better understand how your body moves so you can build strength, restore balance, and move through life with greater ease and confidence.

  • Over the years I’ve worked with clients navigating a wide range of conditions, including disc injuries, scoliosis, stenosis, frozen shoulder, post-surgical recovery, MS, radiation and chemotherapy treatments, and many other complex issues.

I always defer to the guidance of my clients’ physicians and enjoy collaborating with their Physical Therapists to ensure we are aligned in supporting their care and recovery.

If you are currently experiencing an acute injury, there may be periods of rest or certain modifications that are appropriate. The wonderful thing about Pilates is that there are many ways to adapt exercises so we can often work safely around injuries while still supporting strength, mobility, and healing.

Many clients come to Pilates after struggling to find exercise that works with their body. My goal is to help you understand your movement patterns and find a way to build strength and stability safely.

  • My studio is located south of Ventura Blvd in the hills of Encino and has a separate entrance and a dedicated restroom.

Because I work out of a private home studio, the specific address will be provided once your initial session has been booked. Thank you for your understanding!

  • Whatever allows you to feel comfortable and move freely. Form fitting clothes allow me to assess posture and alignment more effectively and ensure better safety on the moving equipment, but are not required.

Clean socks are required on the equipment for hygienic purposes.

  • Currently sessions utilize a Balanced Body Reformer, Springboard, mats, free weights and treadmill (when appropriate).
